MiTAC Inc., a
well-known large-scale system integration company with many years
experience in the Transportation Automation industry, has completed
numerous projects involving Highway, Railway, Mass Rapid Transit, and
High Speed Rail automation. Among the transportation automation
projects, the most successful projects that MiTAC has implemented are
Automatic Fare Collection System projects. These include Taipei EasyCard
System AFC, Taiwan High Speed Rail System AFC, and Electronic Toll
Collection System.
In the past 10 years, MiTAC Inc. has evolved from a software development
company to a system solution provider, integrating both specialized
equipment and software.

Taipei EasyCard System
Multi-operator
and multimodal system: 6 metro lines (104 MRT stations), 5,000 buses (13 operators),

Scope of the projects:
Metro:
Phase 1 (2000-2002): Upgrade the existing Mag. ticket control gates in
stations to include CSC ticket•Phase 2a (2004-2007): Replacement of the
AFC in the existing stations to migrate to an all contact less solution
with recyclable tokens for single journeys.
Phase 2b (2004-2012): Implementation in new lines.
Bus: card validators.
Car parks: dedicated entry/exit gantries.
Sale channels: station offices, cards vending and add value machines,
convenience stores
Central clearing house.
Taiwan High Speed Rail AFC
Unique combination of a long distance line reservation system and a
suburban AFC system
Up to 300 000 passengers per day.
12 stations (8 in initial phase).
Control gates equipped to process both magnetic tickets with reservation
and contact less smart cards.
Designed for future interoperability with Taipei EasyCard system.
